Bath toys

Santa left bath letters and bath crayons in Kiran's stocking!

Christmas Eve

Nothing says "Christmas" like a cross-dressing jackalope.

Framed

The Grinch was framed! It was Cindy Lou Who all along!

Baking cookies

Quaker Oats should pay me for this picture. :-)

Hot cocoa

Kiran's first cup of hot cocoa, complete with marshmallows and a candy cane.

Kiran and all of her friends

Dada took these photos of Kiran while she was preparing for her eventual world domination. First, Kiran sitting on the toybox with all of her friends. Then, Kiran sitting on the toybox after she had summarily dismissed all of her friends (by picking each one up in turn, shouting "no!" in its face, and throwing it on the floor). It's lonely at the top.

Reading the Blog

Kiran just started recognizing herself in pictures. Dada is showing her this blog.

Belly painting

Santa's little helper

People who are less than three feet tall make excellent elves.

Fabulous hat and Sassa

Five minutes alone

Mama and Dada made the mistake of finishing their conversation in the living room after Kiran had toddled down the hallway and into her room, shutting the door behind her. "How much trouble could she get into in her own room?"

No, Mama

"No, Mama. I haven't been eating the crayons or drawing on my face or anything."

Fence

Peeking over the fence.

Leaves!

As usual, that's not a "pile" of leaves -- that's the yard completely covered in them!

Coolio

Kiki with Coolio hair and her Dada with no goatee (and a definite opinion on the latest hair style).

Voting

I hope this picture makes the rounds again someday when she's running for President.

"Where's Guin Guin?" #3

"I cannot BELIEVE I still can't find him. I have a stick to share and everything!"

"Where's Guin Guin?" #2

"I have no idea where he is!"

"Where's Guin Guin?" #1

"Wait a minute. Where's Guin Guin?"

HIGH ENERGY

Yes, everything Kiran does these days is HIGH ENERGY. And if you're wondering what that stick is on the left side of the picture -- it's a toothbrush. Because that's a totally normal thing to want to run around with in the yard.

Pigtails!

At long last, Kiki's hair is long enough for pigtails!

Londontown

The first three minutes of Kiran at Londontown. Coincidentally, also the only three minutes that did not involve a tantrum.

Messy Fun

I hope this picture makes Mema and Dada happy. This kid is highly skeptical of messy fun.

Picking up Pumpkins

She also tried to pick up pumpkins that weighed at least twice as much as she does.

Pumpkins

Guaranteed to make even the fussiest 18-month old happy.

Melancholy

It has been a rough couple of weeks, but there is now clearly a need to cheer up this household.

Outfit

I have been having entirely too much fun with sweaters / button downs / plaid skirts this fall. Props to Dada for pairing the All Stars with the school-girl outfit. Love it.

Doorbell

Apple counting came to an abrupt end when Kiran realized -- from across the yard -- that our front door has a doorbell.

Apples V

Awww. No matter how much sugar apples have, they can't be any sweeter than this.

Apples IV

I wasn't previously aware that the sugar in apples was sufficient to induce this effect...

Apples III

Like Schnitzel with stick stick!

Apples II

Kiran was hamming it up tonight, so there will be several apples pictures...

Apples

Counting (and eating) apples.

Rainy day

Kiran sporting her raincoat and holding her duckie.

Ooh, acorns...

So much for Henrietta.

Twins

Security detail

Kiran and her security detail. The Obama girls have nothing on this.

Mia Hamm

The next Mia Hamm. Though she'll probably have to work on the handball thing.

Reverse psychology

Kiran has been refusing to wear headbands for months now, and I finally had enough. So, I put a headband on Guinness and told Kiran that headbands were ONLY for dogs, and absolutely NOT for little girls. Within thirty seconds, she was stamping her feet and begging to wear the headband. Mission accomplished.

Dizzy

A little dizzy post-twirl. :-)

Twirl

A little twirl for Dada's girl!

DADA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Richard coming home from work is the best part of both of their days.

The Grove

Taking The Grove for a spin on the four-wheeler. And using something between a hug and a death grip to ensure his safety.

Dipes on the head

Breakfast is far from a formal meal in the Nephew household. On Friday, it involved no pants and diapers on the head.

One baby. One yogurt. Five minutes.

The maniacal laughter tells the whole story.

Coolest. Parents. Ever.

Yes, we got Kiran a sliding pond for her room!

New 'do

I decided after Kiran's bath tonight that the time has come to start training her hair to go backwards, in preparation for pony tails and pig tails. She looks pretty silly...

A few more from the beach...

Cousins.

A few more from the beach...

We have beaches at home, too. I must make a point of doing more early morning beach photo shoots.
