Up!

"Put down the camera and pick me up, Mommy!"

Okay, sweetheart.

Sepia

I'm not usually a big fan of sepia photos, but I like this one for some reason. Maybe because the subject is so cute.

Happy

Happy kid. :-)

Stepping out

Today Kiran discovered that walking in and out of the door can be a really fun game. I must remember to take as much joy in simple things as she does.

Whiskers

Guinness puts up with so much from this baby. Like getting his whiskers pulled.

Bath

Now that Kiran is a bona fide toddler, she gets completely filthy when she plays. She's in the bathtub and still has dirt on her face!

Partners in Crime

"You missed a Cheerio, Guin Guin. It's right there."

Binkie

Usually, when the camera comes out, the binkie goes away. But when I got this look, I knew better than to try to take it!

Comic Book Kiran

Fun with photoshop.

Censored

I love naked baby shots. Just not so much on the interwebs.

Towel

Post-bath, ready for bed.

Denist

We think Kiran is going to grow up to be a dentist. As anyone who has ever held her can attest, she loves to stick her fingers in people's mouths and feel their teeth (weird, we know). Not even Gordon Shumway can escape the dreaded dental exam.

Girlie things

People don't believe me, but Kiran gets very upset if I try to do girlie things to her, like putting this flower in her hair.

Salad

Kiran's version of a salad.

Fluffy dress

The essence of being a little girl: playing in the grass in a fluffy dress.

Elephant crawl

Kiran's latest attempt to stall as long as possible on learning to walk -- up on hands and feet.

Mom and me

Yes, sometimes I do come out from behind the lens. Photo taken by Richard and edited by me.

Sliding glass door

This was before she started licking the glass...

Anything she wants

When she gives me these eyes, she can have anything she wants.

Kitchen

Peeking in the new cabinets is fun.

Memorial Day

Thank you.

I heart Cheerios

Haven't posted pictures in a while. That's because I've been busy keeping up with toddler antics. Such as this.

Bark in the Park

Kiran can say exactly three words: Dada, Mama, and Dut (which means "dog"). We took her to a minor league baseball game today for an event called "Bark in Park," where people could bring their dogs to the game. There were dozens of dogs there, and Kiran enjoyed pointing and "dutting" at each and every one of them. Here is Kiran helping Omi work the Dogwood Acres table at the event.

Baby Shower

Kiran's first baby shower. And her first sticker.

Proud

This is Kiran's I'm-super-proud-of-myself face. Presumably for finding a leaf and shaking it. Or maybe for the ridiculous bed head. Either way, gotta start somewhere.

Dandelion

Most things that Kiran plays with outside are things that I hand to her: leaves, sticks, pine cones, flowers, etc. This dandelion she found all on her own. She spotted it from halfway across the lawn and crawled over to check it out.

Pondering

Pondering something important. Like where on earth she left her hairbrush.

Megan

Kiran unceremoniously removing Megan from the stroller. She hasn't yet started filling the stroller with rocks -- which is what I used to do when I threw my dolls out -- but I'm sure it's coming.

Dishwasher

Looks like loading and unloading the dishwasher is a chore I'll have to start doing after a certain somebody goes to bed.

Zoo

We took Kiran to the National Zoo for the first time today. Here she is checking out a monkey.

Past & Future

Nothing like bringing your baby to one of your old haunts.
